We have created a pick-a-mix kit to make an Arcadian Check Quilt measuring 60" x 70" (150cm x 178cm). You choose 14 different fat quarters from our range of Japanese woven fabrics plus 40cm of one fabric for binding and using our comprehensive instructions you can make a lovely quilt like the one below. You will need to provide your own wadding. The kit costs £50.

Our local quilting group - Malvern Quilters has its annual exhibition this weekend, lots of beautiful quilts to admire at Colwell Village Hall, Malvern, WR13 6EQ. Stitch45 will be there selling a range of fabrics so if you live close by please drop by and say hello to Diana. Diana enjoyed a day off at a Saori weaving workshop with Wayward Weaving in Stroud and came home with this impressive piece.

Irene had promised to bring in her Japanese influenced quilt with Sushiko blocks when she had finished it, she came in today and our Tuesday club ladies loved it, well done Irene!

Someone brought in an image of our shop from way back in 1905 when it was Elizabeth Pullen's Fancy Depository so the good people of Malvern could have bought fabrics and embroidery threads back in those days as well.

We are displaying the Malvern Quilter's Chairman's Challenge quilt which is the major raffle prize at their annual exhibition on the weekend of April 9-10 2017 at Colwall Village Hall. This is a beautiful 2m x 2m quilt with blocks made by members of the group. The quilt is shown below together with a close up image of one of the blocks. Raffle tickets are available at the shop.

The Malvern Quilters invited us over to one of their meetings. We had an interesting evening making embroidered sketchbook covers inspired by the designs on African fabrics.

I've got my shop back! Mike was very pleased with how the pottery exhibition went, over 60 pots found new homes and we met a lot of interesting people.

We had lots of visitors to the pottery exhibition, some locals and collectors from as far afield as Mansfield and Cardiff.

Today was our Christmas Decorations workshop, the ladies worked hard and went home with a lovely set of fabric tree decorations.

We went on an Introduction to Basketmaking course with Clyde of Wild Wicker at Wobage Crafts near Ross-on-Wye. A very enjoyable day and we came away with a basket each.

We are changing our opening hours after Easter and will no longer be open on Mondays so our revised opening hours will be Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 to 5:00.

The Charity Scrap Bag Challenge! It was a very busy day, lots of ladies came to help and at the end of the day Alison from the Worcestershire Association of Carers went away with around 30 patchwork tote bags to help with fundraising.

 

Today was also the last day of our January sale, frenzied activity around the £1 fat quarter boxes!
